To prolong the life of a activated carbon filter a high-quality pre-filter is required. A pre-filter is essential for a proper functioning of the carbon filter.

Because of their porous nature the activated carbon granules have a very large surface area. Fine particles could clog the pores and decrease that surface wich results in a rapidly decreasing filtering capacity. If the pre-filter is saturated (you will see this by the filth / blackness of the cloth), there will pass no or less odor through the filter and you will have to replace the cover. The manufacturer recommends to replace the Green Filter Sock after about 10 weeks.

The Green Filter activated carbon filter will become clogged without a proper dust filter, which is a disadvantage to the service life of the filter. Be sure to always have a pre-filter on your filter. The filter covers insure to remove the excess dust from your room.

Special pre-filter (filter sock):
